EL TOPO
El Topo is a black leather clad gunslinger riding through the desert with his seven year old son. They come across a massacre, a scene of indescribable carnage. A dying man tells them who the murderers are - the colonel and his gang - and El Topo, who has taken on the guise of god finds the guilty and wreaks his vengeance.

Mara, the colonel's woman, now liberated, rides along with El Topo and challenges him to prove himself by killing four great masters of the desert. El Topo accepts the challenge and we are led on a surreal journey of brutality pain, love and dust. You will never experience a more bizarre but compelling film. Stars Alejandro Jodorowsky, Mara Lorenzio, David Silva.

HOLY MOUNTAIN
A Christ like figure wanders through bizarre, grotesque scenarios filled with religious and sacrilegious imagery. He meets a mystical guide who introduces him to six wealthy and powerful individuals, each representing a planet in the solar system. These six, along with the protagonist, the guide and the guide's assistant, divest themselves of their worldly goods and form a group of nine who will seek out the Holy Mountain, in order to displace the gods who live there and become immortal.

The remastered EL TOPO certainly looks like an improvement over Raro Video's first EL TOPO release, but the HOLY MOUNTAIN release is only slightly better if at all over the original HOLY MOUNTAIN. The original single DVD releases will remain in print and will be the only available single copies of the movies from Raro. Therefore the only way to buy the remastered DVDs is to buy this box set.
