BODYGUARD KIBA - 1993
Junpei, a low level gangster, is in over his head when he decides to steal a large sum of money from his Yakuza boss. It doesn't take long for the Yukuza to figure things out and dispense with a severe beatdown. Fortunately for Junpei, cops break up the fight before he reveals where the money is stashed. And instead of being beaten to death, he ends up in jail for five years. But when he gets out, he needs constant protection.

Enter Naoto Kiba. He's an invincible bodyguard for hire - just what Junpei needs to recover his money, rejoin his girlfriend and, hopefully, make a safe escape. But Kiba has his hands full with this assignment as he is constantly putting his fighting skills to the test.

This early effort from Takashi Miike (Ichi The Killer, Visitor Q) is based on the manga by former and future Miike collaborator, Hisao Maki (Silver, Family).

BODYGUARD KIBA 2 - 1995
Tetsu Daito and his apprentice Naoto Kiba operate a karate dojo. In order to keep the dojo afloat, they pull in extra cash through their company, God Hand, through which Kiba hires himself out as a bodyguard.

Despite his master's claims that the assignments won't be dangerous, somehow Kiba is constantly in danger. Kiba eventually agrees to protect a beautiful woman in Hong Kong, thinking the job will be an easy one. But he was wrong. Dead wrong.

BODYGUARD KIBA 2: APOCALYPSE OF CARNAGE is another early effort and collaboration between director Takashi Miike (Ichi The Killer, Visitor Q) is based on the manga by former and future Miike collaborator, Hisao Maki (Silver, Family).
