SCREW was proudly tasteless, and lacking any artistry altogether, an unabashed catalogue of perversion and depravity; Goldstein took this aesthetic to the small screen. This collection of segments from the show provides an inside look at DEEP THROAT, the porn movie that changed the face of the industry, introducing the real legends of the film in a way not seen anywhere else. Interviews include one with Carol Connors, a bisexual porn queen known for her way with animals, who co-starred in the film and is now the mother of award-winning actress Thora Birch. Audiences will also hear from renowned porn star Harry Reems, who played Dr. Young in the film; his criminal indictment was notoriously scandalous, and was a catalyst for the battles against the FCC that continue today. Porn director Gerard Damiano makes an appearance, discussing the forced sale of his rights to the film, to its star Linda Lovelace's manager, boyfriend, and alleged abuser, Chuck Traynor. Shedding light on a seminal film whose true story has been debated since its release, this documentary is a fascinating portrait that shows a very different side of events; also included are the actual commercials that aired with the show, unabashedly advertising prostitutes, sex toys, and swinger clubs.
