Arriving from Argentina, the owner's sister (Libertad Lamarque) believes that Gerardo killed her brother for the oil wells. In order to find out the truth, she uses a false identity and starts working as a singer at the same casino from where her brother disappeared. Meanwhile, Traver, a black musician falsely accused of rape and on the run from a lynch mob, arrives on the island. Evalyn believes Traver is innocent and wants to protect him. Miller wants to turn him in to separate him from Evalyn. When a preacher arrives from the mainland, Traver's presence is discovered. Now forced to make a decision, Miller must decide whether to protect Traver from the mob...or turn him over to the mob and thus lose Evalyn.
