INTRUDER features an ingenious storyline, centering around an illegal immigrant (Chien-lien Wu) coming from mainland China to HK, who kidnaps a taxi driver (and his family!) and holds them captive in their own home. Tied up, heavily mistreated and tortured, her victims serve only one purpose: together with her husband, who is about to flee from mainland China, she wants to take over the lifes of the imprisoned family. No matter what…!

Whoever sees some parallels to the Stephen King book-turned-movie MISERY thinks in the right direction. But until now there haven’t been too many movies as radical as INTRUDER. Wu Chien Lien’s character proceeds with a mechanical precision and is missing human emotions in a way that keeps the audience paralyzed with terror.
