Imagine Godzilla squashing the Blob beneath its rather large reptilian foot and you'll start to picture the icky, gooey sloth the becomes space's greatest terror in The Green Slime. Robert Horton (of TV's "Wagon Train" fame) stars as the hot-headed commander enlisted to save Earth while he also battles consummate character actor Richard Jaeckel (The Dirty Dozen, Starman) for the attentions of gorgeous Italian film star Luciana Paluzzi.

An Asteroid in on a collision course with Earth and Jack Rankin (Horton) must blast it out of the universe. Following the seeming success of their mission, Rankin and his men discover a green substance, brought back from the asteroid's surface, which feeds on electricity till it grows into a horrific killing machine. If this isn't trouble enough, zapping the thing with lasers simply splatters its green blood spawning hundred more of the havoc-wreaking beasties. Directed by Kinji Fukasaku.
