This is Jess Franco's hardcore version of THE FEMALE VAMPIRE. Franco filmed 2 versions of the film (one 'hard' and one 'soft') but the 'hard' version technically wasn't hardcore. A year or 2 later Franco filmed some XXX inserts at the producers request. This DVD release includes both the hardcore version and also the FEMALE VAMPIRE version which was released by Image in the US.

A countess (Lina Romay ) who lives alone on the island of Madeira sustains her youth and beauty through regular infusions of the life essence of her visitors. She is soon entangled with a romance-clouded poet (Jack Taylor) who believes it is his fate to join her in the world of eternal life. However, when a forensic scientist (Jess Franco) examines several drained bodies, he concludes that the culprit is in fact a vampire.
